Our Healthful Commitments as Contributors
Heroic (hi-ˈrō-ik)
A Healthful Hero is someone who combats adversity through perseverance, courage, and a desire to change the world. You are a hero of your own Healthful Journey. As individuals, we do not choose to be heroes. Critically, heroism exists in selfless acts where you place yourself at risk for another. Sharing your story requires strength and a willingness to be vulnerable to save another.
Empathetic (ˌem-pə-ˈthe-tik)
We seek first to understand. No healthful story is the same and every journey is unique. We care deeply about each person’s journey. We are committed to empathizing with each Healthful Contributor without judgement. Our empathy and compassion for each other makes our community stronger.
Authentic (ə-ˈthen-tik)
We are seekers of truth. As Healthful Contributors, we commit to sharing only what is True and Accurate to the best of our ability. Memories may be imperfect, however the more accurately we share our stories, the more helpful they might be.
Respectful (ri-ˈspekt-fəl)
Every Healthful Story is unique and could be helpful to someone in need. At HealthfulStories.com, we respect the courage of every Healthful Contributor. This starts with accepting every background and story as important, meaningful, and worthy of sincere appreciation.

Eugene is a Pastor at Cornerstone Community Church, Las Vegas, NV. “Gino” was called into spiritual service over a decade ago, serving as an Elder for Cornerstone Community Church. He previously studied at The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles and the University of Las Vegas. Gino is a devoted husband and father of five.
Michelle Sosa
Secretary and Board Member
Michelle has had a career devoted to human health and wellness, working as an academic researcher, clinical researcher, and health economist. She began her public health career in Hawaii and received her Master of Science in Epidemiology from Brown University. Michelle is also the proud mother of an energetic 5-year-old.
F. Darion Petty
Board Member
Darion has spent over 20 years as a healthcare and life sciences executive, helping deliver treatments to patients globally. A former officer in the U.S. Army, Darion holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Alabama. He is a dedicated husband and father to two children.
